Privacy Policy

1. Scope and core principles

This policy applies to the K-MemoKit apps for Windows and Android and the KaironKit website. K-MemoKit does not require account creation or sign-in, and it does not transmit or collect user content such as notes, schedules, and attachments on a central server operated by KaironKit.

If you use voice input, Android backup, external storage, Wi-Fi transfer, K Talk on PC, or an external link, information may be processed by your operating system, a connected device, or a third-party service you select. The Windows app may contact a public GitHub repository to check update information and retrieve links or notification content shown in the app. The sections below explain these cases in detail.

2. Information the app may process and store

When you use app features, the following information may be stored on your device or in a location you choose:

• Notes: titles, body text, checklists, tables, and images, video, or audio files you attach
• Schedules: event details, dates and times, recurrence, reminders, and color settings
• Favorites: web addresses and paths to files or folders you select
• Calculator and other features: calculation history, captured images, screen recordings, game records, and feature-specific settings
• K Talk on PC: your chosen display name, an installation-specific device identifier, contact and group information, messages, replies, reactions, read status, and transferred attachments
• App settings: display and language settings, categories, sync settings, selected storage locations, and local identifiers required for app operation
• Import and sharing: text and files you explicitly import through the system share menu or file picker

User content may include personal information that you enter or attach yourself. KaironKit does not access that content or use it for user analytics.

Windows screen recording

When you start a screen recording, the selected screen area and mouse pointer are included in the video. Unless muted, audio output from the device and microphone input may also be recorded. During recording, the app creates an MP4 file in the system temporary folder and moves it to your chosen location when recording ends. If you cancel the save or an error occurs, the app attempts to delete the temporary recording file it created.

3. Android permissions and their purposes

The Android app may use the following permissions to provide its features. If you deny an optional permission, you can still use basic features other than the feature that requires it.

Microphone and speech recognition

The microphone permission is used only when you start voice input. Audio may be converted to text by the speech-recognition service configured on your device. Depending on the service and device settings, this may use a network or the service provider’s servers. K-MemoKit does not save the original audio as a separate recording; it saves only the converted text in the note you select.

Screen capture and display over other apps

The quick capture tool works only when you grant Android screen-capture and display-over-other-apps permissions. Depending on your choice, capture results may be stored in app storage, the device gallery, or a temporary clipboard area. They are not sent to KaironKit-operated servers.

Notifications, alarms, vibration, and device startup

These capabilities are used to show schedule reminders, restore scheduled reminders after the device restarts, and notify you at the time you selected.

Network and Wi-Fi

Network access is used to transfer data between devices that you directly connect on the same network or to open external links. It is not used to track nearby devices for advertising or send usage history to KaironKit-operated servers.

Files and storage locations

File access is used to select attachments, import or export data, save captures, and sync with a folder you designate. Where possible, K-MemoKit uses the Android system file picker and accesses only the items you select to the extent required.

4. Storage locations, backups, and device transfer

Your device and storage you select

Default Android data is stored in app-specific storage. Default Windows data is stored in your %AppData%\K_MemoKit folder. Some files created during capture or recording may be held temporarily in a system temporary folder or app cache. When you choose export or folder sync, data and attachments may be stored in a folder or storage provider you designate. If you select cloud storage, that provider’s privacy and security policies apply. KaironKit does not receive your cloud account password.

Android backup and device migration

Depending on your Android settings, app data may be included in Google Account-based backup or device-migration features. Android and your account settings control these features; they do not use KaironKit-operated servers. You can manage whether backups are enabled in your device’s backup settings.

Wi-Fi device transfer

K-MemoKit data is transferred between devices on the same network only when you start a transfer and enter a connection code. The transfer connection is encrypted with TLS and uses a time-limited connection code and data-integrity checks. Transfer data does not pass through KaironKit-operated servers.

K Talk on PC

When K Talk is running on a PC, it may broadcast or multicast discovery information to find other K-MemoKit devices on the same local network. This information can include an installation-specific device identifier, your chosen display name, public key, connection port, and online status. Other devices on the same network can see this discovery information and the local IP address used for communication, but discovery packets do not contain message bodies or attachments.

When you start a conversation, messages, attachments, replies, reactions, and read status are sent directly to the selected device. Messages and attachments use ECDH key agreement with device-specific public keys and AES-GCM encryption, and do not pass through KaironKit-operated servers. Sent and received content may be stored locally on each participating device to display conversation history.

Exports, synced files, and K Talk attachments may contain user content. You are responsible for checking the storage location, devices participating on the same network, and the people with whom you share them.

5. Third-party services

If you choose the following features, the relevant service may process information under its own policy:

• The speech-recognition service configured on your device
• A file or cloud-storage provider you select
• Android backup and device-migration services
• GitHub, which provides update information and images, sounds, links, or notifications for the Windows app
• App-distribution platforms such as Microsoft Store and Google Play
• External websites you open directly from the app or website

KaironKit does not sell or provide personal information to third parties for advertising. The Windows app may automatically contact raw.githubusercontent.com to retrieve public settings, links, images, sounds, and new-version information for its start screen and notifications. These requests do not include user content such as notes, schedules, conversations, or attachments. GitHub may, however, process access logs such as IP address, request time, and network-request information to provide and secure its service. Other third-party services are used only when you run the relevant feature or choose a storage location.

6. Website visit information

The KaironKit website does not use visitor analytics such as Google Analytics or advertising and tracking cookies. Notes, schedules, and attachments stored in K-MemoKit are not sent to the website while you browse it.

The website may store one functional preference in your browser’s local storage solely to remember whether to repeat the first-visit visual effect. This value does not contain your name, contact details, app content, or browsing history, and you can remove it by clearing site data in your browser.

In the course of hosting the website, the hosting provider may process basic access logs such as IP address, request time, and browser information for security and service operation. KaironKit does not use these logs for advertising or visitor profiling.

7. Retention and deletion

App data remains on your device until you delete it in the app or reset the app’s data. Removing the Android app generally deletes data in app-specific storage, but some data may be restored on reinstallation if Android backup is enabled. Removing the Windows app may leave data stored in %AppData%\K_MemoKit. To delete it completely, use the app’s storage-management feature or delete that folder yourself.

Copies that you exported, saved in a selected sync folder or cloud service, placed in the device gallery, or transferred to another device are not automatically deleted when the app is removed. You must delete those files directly from each storage location. Messages and attachments sent through K Talk may also remain on the recipient’s device, where they are managed by that device’s user. Information processed by third-party services follows each service’s retention and deletion policy.

8. Your choices and controls

• You can grant or revoke Android permissions such as microphone, notifications, and display over other apps at any time in system settings.
• You can view, edit, or delete notes, schedules, favorites, calculation history, and captures directly in the app.
• You choose sync folders and export locations and can delete stored files from those locations.
• You can manage app backup in Android settings and choose to reset app data or remove the app.
• You can mute Windows screen recording to exclude device output and microphone input.
• You can delete K Talk conversation history and received attachments and choose which local network to use.

9. Security measures

K-MemoKit uses app-specific storage and operating-system permission controls and limits file access to items you select. Wi-Fi transfer uses TLS encryption, a time-limited connection code, and data-integrity checks. K Talk messages and attachments use ECDH key agreement and AES-GCM encryption. Discovery information required to find devices on the same local network—such as display name, device identifier, and online status—may still be visible to nearby devices. Security for external storage and third-party services you select is governed by the provider’s policy and your settings.

10. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when app features, permissions, or data-processing practices change. If a material change is made, we will provide a clear notice on the website or in the app and show the revision date at the bottom of this page.
